Security guards in court for stealing from employer

The Police on Tuesday arraigned four security guards, Agber Nelson, Tombuwua James, Shima Geofrey and Okunomo Adeshola before a Lagos State Magistrate’s Court sitting in Tinubu, Lagos Island for allegedly stealing 64 pieces of pipes from their employer.

The defendants are facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing preferred against them.

The prosecutor, Inspector Ajaga Agboko, told the court that the defendants committed the offences on July 10, 2023, around 8pm.

He said the incident occurred at No 54 and 58, Milverton Road, Ikoyi, Lagos.

Agboko said the defendants conspired to steal 64 pieces of Acro pipes valued at N896,000 from their employer, Telisol Limited represented by one Adeniran Tunde.

According to him, the offence contravened Sections 411 and 287 (7) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.

However, the defendants pleaded not guilty to the charge against them.

The Magistrate, Taoheed Babalola, granted them bail in the sum of N250,000 each with one surety each in like sum.

The case was adjourned till August 7 for mention.
