Barrister Mohammed Waziri Abdulkadir, Chairman NBA Minna Branch stated this during a hold-no-bar interactive session on Wednesday between the executive committee of the branch and leadership of the Magistrate Association of Nigeria, Niger State Chapter. While intimating the leadership of the Magistrate Association on the ongoing efforts to ratify Administration of Criminal Justice Act in the state, Barrister Waziri noted that the bill will streamline the legal system nationwide.

In his address, The Chairman of the Magistrate Association, Chief Magistrate Hauwa Kulu Isha stressed the need for a harmonious working relationship between his association and the bar for smooth dispensation of justice.

According to him, without collaboration between the bar and the judiciary, the administration of justice will become a difficult process for the common man to assess. He thereafter called on the leadership of the bar to sensitize its members to be more courteous in their approach to the court.

Speaking further, the Chairman Magistrate Association decried the non-involvement of his members in the activities of the bar, stressing that before becoming a Magistrate, you must be a lawyer. The Chairman, equally, called on the bar to throw its weight on the bill seeking improved welfare package for Magistrates.

Responding, Barrister Waziri noted all the issues raised by the association and assured its leadership that deliberate effort will be made to support the association in achieving her goal.

Barrister Waziri also informed the association that the bar is going to write an endorsement letter to the National Assembly to facilitate speedy legislative action.
