Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has said his administration is not out to witch-hunt anyone with the committee set up to investigate controversies surrounding kingship appointments made after the July 16 governorship election by the immediate past administration.

While receiving the report of the committee chaired by Mr Bunmi Jenyo in Osogbo on Tuesday, Adeleke assured all stakeholders that his administration would ensure the rule of law and due process in the government’s decision-making process.
Adeleke, who commended the committee for a job well done, promised to look into the report and implement recommendations from the panel.

He said, “My team and I will take a look at the (report). I am sure the recommendations you put there will be implemented.

“We are not here to witch-hunt anybody. We simply want to ensure that Osun stands out from the crowd. We will ensure the rule of law and due process under my leadership.”

Presenting the report, the Chairman of the Committee, Jenyo, said the panel received over 1,000 petitions, adding that its members discharged their duties with equity, fairness, and justice without compromise.

Jenyo said the committee came up with far-reaching recommendations to assist the government in making future decisions in the area of chieftaincy affairs in the state.
