The ruling on the competence of the petition filed by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP’s, candidate at the August 9, Osun State governorship poll, Senator Iyiola Omisore yesterday suffered a temporary setback following the absence of one of the judges who was indisposed.
Justice Elizabeth Ekpejime, the chairman of the panel, had at the last sitting fixed yesterday for ruling on the motion filed by APC’s counsel, Chief Akinlolu Olujimi, SAN, challenging the jurisdiction of the panel to hear petition against the victory of Mr. Rauf Aregbesola.
At the sitting yesterday, the panel which was supposed to commence sitting by 9 am could not sit as the Secretary of the tribunal, Mr. Muhammed Aliyu, announced that the sitting will commence by 10am.
