The Tax Appeal Tribunal, Abuja, has adjourned hearing till Feb. 5 the suit filed by Gazprom Oil and Gas Nigeria Ltd, seeking to void N65m VAT re-assessment notices issued it.
Gazprom Oil and Gas had instituted the suit against the Federal Inland Revenue Service over the Value Added Tax re-assessment notices issued the company on March 5, 2013.
The VAT re-assessment notices are for payment of 339,168.87 US dollars and 50, 894.96 Euros (N65m).
Mr Nnamdi Ibegbu, the Acting Chairman of the tribunal, adjourned the matter on Wednesday following the inconclusive addresses of the two parties.
The tribunal gave the FIRS seven days to reply the written final address of Gazprom Oil and Gas Nigeria Limited.
Mrs Deborah Tarfa-Bassi, counsel for the FIRS and Mr Folajimi Akinla, counsel for Gazprom , agreed to come to the tribunal with their final written addresses at the next adjourned date.
