As part of the political solution to the lingering crisis that has been rocking Nigerian football, President Goodluck Jonathan on Wednesday night met with the president of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Pinnick and the proprietor of Giwa FC of Jos, Chris Giwa.
The President who met the feuding parties at the presidential villa reminded them that national interest should always override every personal consideration.
He also enjoined the Giwa faction who had dragged the NFF to court to first withdraw their case from the court so as to avert the impending FIFA ban which he noted will not be in the interest of anybody.
The meeting which also had in attendace Vice President, Namadi Sambo, Secretary to the Federal Government (SGF), Sen. Anyim Pius, minister and chairman of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Dr. Tammy Danagogo has been rescheduled to reconvene next week after the two parties might have discussed.
Meanwhile, immediate past chief coach of the Super Eagles, Stephen Keshi has thanked President Goodluck Jonathan for approving his recall to handle the national team.
