A Bayelsa State High Court sitting in Yenagoa has ordered accelerated hearing in the suit before it by the suspended chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the state, Col Sam Inokoba (rtd), over the activities of the disciplinary committee, which expelled some members for alleged anti-party activities.

The court had last Friday adjourned the case to tomorrow for hearing in the the substantive case.

The suspended state Chairman of the PDP, Inokoba and Mr. Osom Blankson, are challenging the constitution of the disciplinary committee.

The trial judge, Justice Kate Abiri, refused to grant an interim injunction sought by the applicants but directed the counsel to proceed with the originating motion.

Justice Abiri noted that the PDP disciplinary committee had already taken some actions by expelling and suspending some members and so, granting an injunction would have no effect any more.
She adjourned the case to Tuesday for hearing in the substantive.

Justice Abiri had granted an ex-parte order for substituted service on members of the disciplinary committee of the PDP, who have allegedly been evading court service.

Accordingly, the court processes were pasted on the fence of the PDP Secretariat on Chief DSP Alamieyeseigha Road, in Yenagoa.
The first two defendants, Governor Seriake Dickson and Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Kemasuode Wodu, were personally served but the third to 10th defendants have allegedly been evading service.

The third to 10th defendants include state Secretary of the party, Mr. Godpower Keku and members of the disciplinary committee headed by Mr. Cleopas Moses.
