The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, governorship candidate in the August 9 election in Osun State, Senator Iyiola Omisore yesterday failed to make any headway in prosecuting his petition against the re-election of Governor Rauf Aregbesola, as the verification of his evidence has stalled hearing for two consecutive days.
Omisore and the PDP are challenging the August 9, re-election of Aregbesola and his party, All Progressive Congress, APC, before Justice Elizabeth-led Election Petition Tribunal.
Omisore and the PDP (petitioners) have 14 days to prosecute their petition before the Tribunal, out of which two days have been exhausted on the verification of the Certified True Copies CTC of form EC8A series that the petitioners intend to tender as evidence.
Counsel to the petitioner, Dr Alex Izinyon SAN had on Monday applied that the tribunal should stand down, with a view to allowing him present the documents to respondents for verification to tender them by consent.
