Mr Kaine Ananwune, ACArb, the Immediate past Chairman of NBA Anaocha Branch has written to the President of the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, Olumide Akpata, notifying the NBA President of the unconstitutionality of the attempt to Amend the NBA Constitution on the 25th of August 2022 at the Annual General Meeting of the Association in Eko Hotels Lagos.

In the Letter dated 1st August 2022, the Former NBA Chairman explained that the Notices from the General Secretary of the Association and the Assistant General Secretary of the Association dated 27th July 2022 and 28th July 2022 respectively are in breach of section 25 of the NBA Constitution as to the time-frame required to amend the NBA Constitution.

Mr Ananwune urged the NBA President not to allow the flagrant violation of the NBA Constitution.

The letter was copied to the General Secretary and the Assistant General Secretary.
