The Nigerian Bar Association NBA Bwari chapter has said it will embark on educating the people on the role of the rule of law in the development of the area.

The chapter, popularly called Capital Bar, said the move would help combat the ills in its host community.

Speaking with journalists during the swearing in of the chapter’s new executives, the chairman, Mohammed Tsav said the presence of NBA Bwari in its host community of Bwari Area Council needs to be felt.

“We need to interact with the people and educate them on what the rule of law means. This will ensure that everyone knows his rights and responsibilities and contribute to the development of the area.

Tsav said Capital Bar has reached out to the area council on the plan.

“We have gone to the area council secretariat and spoke to them. We even went to other stakeholders including security agencies like the Department of State Services (DSS) and major private enterprises, and we told them what we wanted to do and discussed with them how they can come in and play their roles. This is where we want to start from,” he said.

He said when feedback are gotten from them on what they expect from lawyers within Bwari, the Capital Bar will have joint sessions where they will formulate policies for the development of the area.

“There is need to establish the role of the rule of law, because most problems arise when there is a breach in the rule of law,” he said.
