The Council of Legal Education on Thursday released this year’s final Bar examination conducted by the Nigerian Law School, with 68.5 per cent of the total 2,852 regular students who sat for the examinations conducted in May successful.

Also, in the resit category, 60.8 per cent of the total 2,736 students who sat for the examinations conducted earlier in April passed.

In all, 3,782 passed the final examinations and are to be called to the Bar in October.

The Director General of the Nigerian Law School, Olanrewaju Onadeko, who gave the breakdown of the results in a statement on Thursday, said the call to Bar ceremonies for the successful candidates would hold from October 20 to 22 in Abuja.

Details of the results indicated that a total of 2,736 sat for the resit examinations, with 60.2 per cent (1,648) obtaining Pass, 3.6 per cent (98) Conditional Pass, while 36.2 per cent (990) failed.

Of the 2,852 students who participated in the regular Bar final examinations, 68.5 per cent recorded pass, 2.9 per cent got conditional pass, while 28.6 per cent failed.

Of the successful regular students, four passed with First Class, 109 got Second Class Upper, 418 Second Class Lower, 1,422 Pass, 83 Conditional Pass, 815 fail.

Those who got First Class include Sani Fatima Bombom (Abuja campus), Mbonu Genevieve Chinyeaka and Olowu Adetutu Abisoye (both of the Lagos campus) and Abajuo Reason Emma (Enugu campus).
