The African edition of the Global Pound Conference (GPC) Series 2016-17 will hold in Lagos on June 30, 2016. The aim of this worldwide conference series is to engage all key stakeholders in a conversation about dispute resolution and how it should be used in commercial and civil conflicts in the 21st Century.

The event which will be held at the state of the art International Center for Arbitration and ADR, Lagos, will be attended by major stakeholders in disputes resolution.

Among them is a Senior Advocate and former Attorney General of Nigeria, Chief Bayo Ojo who will deliver the keynote address. This edition of the regional Africa GPC Series, will also be led by Negotiation and Conflict Management Group (NCMG) International, in partnership with the International Mediation Institute (IMI).

The event will utilize an online technology platform to enable all participants to vote on standardised questions about the most effective ways to reshape the dispute resolution landscape. Like the original Pound Conference, held in the USA in 1976, the ambition of the GPC is to change the culture and methods of resolving conflicts.

The GPC Series will also culminate in a report at the end of 2017, which interprets the data gathered globally to help shape how dispute resolution will be conducted for years to come. The resulting data from all of the events will be available to anyone wishing to research stakeholder views on dispute resolution.
