Kogi judge kidnappers demand N150m ransom

Kidnappers of Kogi State High Court Judge, Justice Samuel Obayo-mi, have demanded N150 million ransom for his release.

Family source said the kidnappers contacted the family yesterday afternoon and demanded for the ransom, promising to call back in two hours to tell the family how and when to deliver the money.

Justice Obayomi, attached to Ebogogo High Court in Adavi Local Government Area of the state, was kidnapped on Monday morning on his way to office by gunmen, who killed his orderly, Corporal Usman Musa.

However, Chief Judge of the state, Justice Nasir Ajanah, who said he had given a directive to the family to contact him of any development, said he had not been rightly informed.

Efforts to get confirmation from the police proved abortive as phone calls put across to the state command Public Relations Officer, ASP Collins Adebayo, was not answered and he was yet to respond to text messages sent to his phone at press time.
