Absence of the presiding Judge yesterday stalled the hearing of suit of the   leadership tussle in the Centre for Black Culture and International Understanding CBCIU, a Category II facility under the auspices of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization UNESCO, between the Noble Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka and former Osun State Governor, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola at a Federal High Court sitting in Osogbo.

The Court sitting was expected to begin in the suit with registration number FHC/OS/CS/3/2013 yesterday but the Presiding Judge handling the case did not show up.

No reason was given for his absence, but it was gathered that the Presiding Judge was outside the state. The case was therefore adjourned till November 11, 2015.

However, it was reported at the weekend that Professor Soyinka has resigned his appointment as the Chairman, Board of Trustees of the Centre but Governor Rauf Aregbesola rejected the resignation, saying that Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola could not constitutionally remain permanent chairman of the centre.

The counsel to the centre, Mr Adetunji Muraina, however carpeted Governor Aregbesola for his purported statement on the matter, describing it as ‘contemptuous and unfortunate.’
