Jonathan swears in new CJN

President Goodluck Jonathan on Thursday swore in the new Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Mahmud Mohammed, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Mohammed, the 14th indigenous CJN, took over from Justice Aloma Muktar who retired at the statutory age of 70.

Shortly after his inauguration, the new CJN was also conferred with the national honour of the Grand Commander of the Order of Niger.

He promised to build on the foundations laid by his predecessors in office, especially the immediate one.
