The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Imo State, Chief Emeka Ihedioha, has accepted the ruling of the Supreme Court which dismissed his challenge of Governor Okorocha’s victory in the April 11 election.

In a statement he personally signed, Ihedioha also tasked Governor Okorocha to direct his energies towards providing good governance for the people of Imo State who he said were suffering bad leadership and decay of social services.

The statement said: “On Thursday, the apex court of our nation’s judicial system, the Supreme Court of Nigeria delivered judgement striking out my legal challenge of the declaration of His Excellency, Chief Ethelbert Anayo Okorocha OON, as Governor elect by the INEC following the 2015 Governorship election in our dear Imo State.

“I must reiterate that although the factual complaints we made over the irregularities that bedeviled the Governorship election were never heard or determined on the merits by any level of the court’s hierarchy, our matter was struck out on technical grounds, I hold no grudges.

“Finally, I wish H.E. Gov. Okorocha well, while urging him to take into account the apparently dwindling fortunes of Imo State and the avoidable economic hardship confronting our people under his watch. God bless Imo State and her people.”
