A Federal High Court in Lagos yesterday granted four foreigners and two Nigerians, arraigned before the court by Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), for allegedly dealing in petroleum products without appropriate licence bail in the sum of N1 million each.

Those granted bail by the trial judge, Justice Mohammed Idris are four Ghanaians, Tola Kwami, Ameyon Sisieli, Jacob Apaloo, Setol Sunday, a Beninese, Senaya Edo; and two Nigerians, Micheal Dansu and Moses David.

They were arraigned by officials of the NSCDC on a two-count charge of conspiracy and dealing in petroleum products without licence.

According to the Prosecutor, Mrs Rita Ezeli, the accused persons committed the alleged offence on August 7, 2015 at 10:00 p.m, at Topo community in Badagry area of Lagos.

Ezeli also alleged that the accused persons conspired with others still at large to deal and distribute petroleum products (petrol) without any lawful authority or appropriate licence.

She further maintained that the offence contravened Section 1 (17) of the Miscellenous Offences Act, Laws of the Federation, 2004.

The accused persons pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Based on their plea, the prosecutor urged the court to remand the accused to prison custody pending commencement of trial.
