Medical practitioners under the platform of Nigerian Union of Allied Health Professionals, NUAHP, yesterday, threatened to direct their counterparts in the state hospitals to join the ongoing nationwide indefinite strike, should the Federal Government fail to heed their demands by November 6, 2014.
The union had embarked on strike since October 16 to press home their demands.
The striking union comprises Physical Therapists, Medical Laboratory Scientists, Radiographers, Pharmacists, Dieticians, Medical Social Workers, Psychologists, Medical Physicists, Optometrists, Health Information Managers, Orthotics, among others.
Addressing a press conference in Lagos, the union’s President, Dr. Kayode Faniran also urged President Goodluck Jonathan not to appoint another doctor as the minister of health if he wants to end the crisis in the health sector.
