Express Grievances Against Judiciary Through Appropriate Channel – Mahmoud SAN

Lawyers in Nigeria have been advised by President of the Nigerian Bar Association NBA Abubakar Mahmud SAN to express grievances against the leadership of the judiciary through the right channel and not on social media.

Mahmoud said this on Monday at the inauguration of nine committees which are expected to help him achieve the set objectives of the NBA.

While urging lawyers to respect the order of seniority at the bar, the President noted that the establishment of the committees was fundamental to ensuring a more active bar, as it was not possible for the national officers or the secretariat to deal with all the activities and functions of the Bar. “In view of the foregoing, this administration has constituted some committees with a view to achieving our set objectives,” he stated.

The committees are NBA Welfare Committee, Human Rights Institute Governing Council, NBA Anti-corruption Commission, NBA Election Working Group, Criminal Justice and Law Reform Committee, NBA Editorial Board, Young Lawyers Forum, NBA Prosecution Team and the NBA Legislative Advocacy Committee.
