The Kogi State National and State House of Assemblies Election Petitions Tribunal has commence pre- hearing of petitions.
The three-man panel mandated to handle the petitions submitted by the aggrieved candidates which was inaugurated on April 19, has 28 petitions to deal with.
The chairman of the tribunal, Justice A.B. Ikpeme, said the extension of the deadline of the submission of petitions was due to some re-scheduled elections in the state which gave room for fresh petitions to be submitted.
However, out of the 28 petitions three are for the Senate; meaning that all the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, senatorial candidates filed petitions against their All Progressives Congress, APC, counterparts who won the three senate seats.
