Justice Husseini Baba-Yusuf of an FCT High Court yesterday fixed March 16 for ruling on a motion brought by former National Security Adviser (NSA) Sambo Dasuki seeking for an order of the court to consolidate the two charges brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Dasuki’s counsel, Ahmed Raji (SAN) told the court that Dasuki has been looking for consolidation of the charges and when the second case file was transferred at the order of the Chief Judge (CJ) of the FCT High Courts, Justice Ishaq Bello from Justice Peter Affen’s court to Justice Baba-Yusuf (who is now seized of both charges), it is seen as a step towards consolidation.

However, prosecution counsel, Rotimi Jacobs in objecting said the application is “very unfortunate”. He said a similar application was earlier filed on 31/05/2016 by Dasuki and the application was never struck out nor withdrawn but abandoned. He said for Dasuki to now file “an innocuous application” on the same terms is an abuse of court processes.
