An Ogun State High Court sitting in Ijebu-Ode, yesterday, struck out a petition filed by the People Democratic Party candidate of the House of Representatives in Ogun Waterside/ Ijebu North and Ijebu East Federal constituency, Tele Ogunjobi, following the withdrawal of the suit by the plaintiff.
Justice S. A Olugbemi, of the High Court sitting in Ijebu-Ode, while ruling on the experte motion, struck out the motion saying it was not filed in accordance with the rule of the court.
Ogunjobi had approached the state High Court sitting in Ijebu-Ode to challenge alleged snatching of the mandate given to him during the primary election which he claimed he won, but, was given to another person.
The plaintiff dragged the PDP, the state Chairman, Engr. Adebayo Dayo and Mr. Adesegun Abdulmojeed Adekoya before the court for alleged illegal substitution of his name with Adekoya’s.
In the suit, Ogunjobi urged the court to declare him the legally elected candidate into the House of Representatives having won the primary election held at Ogbere townhall on December 6 2014 by 33 votes.
