Court grants Nnamani leave to travel abroad for checkup

A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos, yesterday, granted leave to former Enugu State governor, Chimaroke Nnamani, who is standing trial alongside seven others, on 105 count charge bordering on money laundering, to travel overseas for medical checkup.

Other accused are: Sunday Anyaogu, Rainbownet (Nig) Ltd, Hillgate (Nig) Ltd, Cosmos Fm, Capital City Automobile (Nig) Ltd, Renaissance University Teaching Hospital and Mea Mater Elizabeth High School.

They are been tried by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

At the resumed hearing in the case, the prosecutor, Mr Kevin Uzozie, informed the court that the case was slated for trial, adding that he was prepared to proceed with the trial.

He reminded the court that the matter was at the last date, adjourned at the instance of the accused, following ill health.
