The National Veterinary Research Institute NVRI Vom in Plateau State has been ordered by the Jos Division of the National Industrial Court to reinstate Mr. Reuben Awanye Itruma whose appointment was  terminated in October 2007.

The court also directed the institute to pay Itruma his accrued salaries, allowances and other entitlement since his dismissal till date, amounting to N10 million.

Itruma had dragged the institute to the industrial court over stoppage of his salaries and dismissal from service ‘without fair hearing,’ asking the court to declare the institute’s action as null and void.

In her judgment on the matter, Justice  R. H. Gwandu declared that the purported stoppage of the claimant’s salary and his subsequent dismissal from service was unlawful and therefore reversed.
