A Magistrate court in Ilorin on Friday sentenced one Mr Itopa Peter Adogun to 10-months in  prison for impersonating a lawyer.

Adogun had practised for 10 years, appearing before various courts including the Supreme court.

The convict had collected the call to bar certificate of one Inufin David Taiwo, under the pretext that he wanted to assist him get a lucrative job in an oil company. It is under this name that Adogun practised as a lawyer.

The real owner of the certificate is said to be practising in Abuja, while the fake one, relocated to Ilorin, where he had been practising since 2007.

Adogun pleaded guilty to the charges preferred against him.
