The firm, is registered with the Bureau of Public Enterprises (“BPE”), the Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”) and other professional service regulatory bodies in Nigeria. The firm’s broad experience in advising international clients on diverse transactions, puts it in a vantage position to identify and address usual areas of concern and expectations, and its international client base include conglomerates consistently listed in the top echelon of “Fortune 500” companies.

Abdulai, Taiwo & Co. was the first Nigerian law firm to be registered as Consultants to the African Development Bank (“ADB”); and has also acted for and/or in transactions involving other regional and multilateral Development Financial Institutions, such as Shelter Afrique, European Investment Bank, World Bank (IBRD Line of Credit Facilities), etc. The firm has on past occasions, acted extensively for COFACE (Compagnie Française d’Assurance pour le Commerce Exterieur) and BFCE (Banque Française pour Commerce Exterieur), which are both national export credit agencies (ECA) of France.

Abdulai, Taiwo & Co. has been professionally involved in all the various phases of Privatization in Nigeria. Either acting as the Legal Adviser member in consortia, or on its own, the firm has cumulatively participated in several Federal Government privatization/ divestiture transactions.

In recent times, the firm has been developing a strong capacity for Public-Private Partnership (“PPP”) and Private Finance Initiatives. Competing amidst a strong field of international expert consultants, the consortium of Serres, Dewast/Abdulai, Taiwo emerged as runner-up/”silver medalist” in the World Bank international tender for the establishment of a PPP resource centre in Nigeria, under the Public-Private Infrastructure Advisory Facility (PPIAF, Trust Fund No. 056655, Project ID. No. 10449).
